January 18th may have just been the most rockin’ night on Broadway. After a run of 2,342 performances, the final performance of Rock of Ages took place at the Helen Hayes Theatre – and our staff were there to experience the spectacle for the final time. Check out the night through our photos below!

Pre-show, waiting to get in. The line for closing night is around the block, though it’s raining. It’s hard to tell, but there are a lot of former cast members in line for the show! Believe it or not, it was my first time seeing the show (can you tell how excited I am?)!

Samuel French Vice President Ken Dingledine and Executive Director Bruce Lazarus are PUMPED for the show to begin!

The eager audience awaits the show. It was a packed house!

Sat next to these very cool Rock of Ages Superfans, Karin Gehm Barrett and Jen Horin, who had seen Rock of Ages 72 and 105 times, respectively! We talked a lot about the reason that Rock of Ages is such a powerful, fun night. Karin told us, “Theatre in general takes you to magical places but Rock of Ages was the most magical. Every time I saw the show there was something different and amazing.” Meanwhile, Jen commented, “I love Rock of Ages because, for just those couple of hours, you can forget about the troubles and stress in your life, just sit back, and have nothing but a good time!” Both women agreed that Sunday night was “was all kinds of awesome.” In the words of Jen, “The crowd was insane and the cast was just taking it all in. Doesn’t get better than that!” We agree!

The huge finale number featured so many former cast members! After a number of tearful tributes and speeches, we also got a special treat from lead guitarist Joel Hoekstra, who killed it with a rendition of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”

On to the after-party! Nate and I were star-stuck by Constantine Maroulis after his awesome closing performance.

Ken and I posing with Rock of Ages Andre Ward, who’s been with the show since 2009.

Nate and I with Rock of Ages star and social media celebrity Frankie Grande, who played Franz, and Josephine Rose Roberts, who gave a stellar performance as Regina/Candi.

We finally found our writer! The charming and talented Chris D’Arienzo. It was our first meeting with the man behind the show, and I’m happy to report that he’s incredibly funny and cool. Thanks for writing a great musical, Chris!

Finally, our before-shot of the epic Rock of Ages cake. (It was delicious!)

Constantine and Frankie after the cake exploded! Thanks to the genius Rock of Ages cast and crew for the rockin’ party. On behalf of Samuel French, we had an amazing time!
