Ben Coleman

Ben is the Literary Supervisor for Samuel French Inc. where he is part of the team responsible for curating the catalog of plays and musicals for this 180 year old theatrical institution. His role with the company involves scouting new works and artists for publication and licensing, and many more playwright-related responsibilities. Outside of the office Ben teaches Play Analysis to the undergraduates at Marymount Manhattan College, periodically writes theatre criticism/editorials, serves as a dramaturg and script consultant, appears on various panels and podcasts, and has dabbled in producing too. In addition to his work in dramatic publishing, he has had the privilege to work for The Drama Desk Awards (2015 Nominator), The Signature Theatre, New Dramatists, UnsungMusicalsCo., Astoria Performing Arts Center, and numerous theatrical agencies and casting offices. Ben has a Master’s Degree in Theatre History & Criticism from Brooklyn College and a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. @benreviews.
